My roof leaks. Do I need to have it replaced completely?

Not necessarily. Leaks can result from flashings that have come loose or a section of the roof system being damaged. A complete roof system failure, however, generally is irreversible and a result of improper installation or choice of materials or the roof system installation is inappropriate for the home or building.

How to get a new roof from insurance?

A lot of people wonder whether insurance will pay for a new roof. It’s obvious that when your roof is completely damaged, it needs replacement with a new roof. Your insurer may delay or even refuse payment if you don’t follow the established roof insurance claim procedure. Your roofer can help you with the paperwork and ensure that all damage is accounted for to get optimum compensation.

How long will the actual roofing service take?

Most roofing jobs are completed in one or two days.

My insurance company denied my claim, so am I out of luck?

A: You’re entitled to a re-inspection once you choose a contractor who is willing to work with your insurance company adjuster. This is where you need a storm repair company to represent you that has expertise in this area.

How do I know for sure I need a new roof?

Older roofing shingles and wood shakes typically have a 15- to 30-year lifespan depending on the shingles’ quality, the location and tree cover of your home, and how well the roof was installed originally. Direct sunlight, weather/wind, and poor roof deck ventilation are rough on Central Florida area roofs. a decade ago. We tell our customers that 12 years is a good rule of thumb to go by. At that point, check for these warning signs:

  • Curling shingles
  • Loss of the asphalt granulation (looks like bald spots)
  • Evidence of leaking on your ceilings
  • Cracked or discolored interior drywall (painted or wallpapered)
  • Decaying shingles
  • Missing shingles
  • Visible cracks
  • Wind damage
  • Broken or damaged shingles
  • Rusted or missing flashing

If a residential roof is over 15 years old, we recommend you call us out for a look. Sometimes the damage isn’t visible to the untrained eye on the ground, and catching it early can avoid expensive interior repairs in the future.

Will I have to replace gutters and downspouts at the same time?

If your gutters and downspouts are in good shape, our roofing contractors will work around them. To avoid damaging them, we don’t remove and reinstall them once your roof is complete. If your gutters are in relatively good shape, but need minor repair, we can provide this service too. Secured Roofing company is a full-service roofing contractor.

How long can I expect my roof system to last?

A roof system life span is determined by a number of factors, including local climatic and environmental conditions, proper building and roof system design, material quality and suitability, proper application and adequate roof maintenance. Roofing product manufacturers offer a variety of warranties on their products. Take a close look at those warranties to see what responsibilities and financial obligations manufacturers will assume if their products fail to reach their expected lives.
